The Chamber SWLA Small Business Committee

The Small Business committee is a group of volunteers representing a cross-section of Chamber member businesses. Small Businesses are the backbone of the Southwest Louisiana economy, and this committee serves as a voice for small businesses.

The purpose of this committee is to promote growth, profitability, recognition and resources of businesses through educational programs, networking opportunities and special events focusing on the needs of small business in Southwest Louisiana. 

What We Do:

  • Hold Monthly Committee Meetings

  • Host Quarterly Lunch and Learn Workshops

  • Coordinate the Annual Business Expo and Luncheon

  • Present the Annual Small Business of the Year Award

  • Participate in Chamber Events such as Golf Tournament, Annual Meeting, LegisGator, etc.

How To Be Involved

  • Be an active chamber member

  • Have a passion for small business development

  • Be committed

  • Attend at least 6 of the 9 monthly meetings

  • Attend 3 of the 4 quarterly workshops

  • Participate in the business Expo

  • Participate in Chamber SWLA events

  • Recruit members to the Chamber & Committee

  • Nominate business for the Small Business of the Year Award
